It’s been three years since Bullet for my Valentine issued Venom. The album landed at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 chart, giving the group the highest chart success of their career. They’re hoping to repeat that success this year with their sixth studio effort, Gravity, and have shared “Over It,” the first single off the new record.
Bullet for My Valentine perfectly skirt the line between metal and hard rock with driving rhythms and plenty of tempo changes tempered by lightly picked melodic passages and an anthemic, empowering chorus. Lyrically, “Over It” analyzes the sense of frustration that comes with trying to help someone who has touch with himself or herself and failing. Eventually, you just have to let it go or get over it.
