The Montclair Film Festival opened Friday night at the Wellmont Theater to a near sold-out crowd for the documentary “Step.”
Throw in some unseasonably warm weather, some famous people, and some step-dancing, you get the opening night for the Montclair Film Festival on Friday.
An audience packed the Wellmont Theater for the screening of “Step,” the crowd-pleasing documentary about the step-dancing team of a Baltimore all-girls charter high school, which was preceded by a demonstration of the dance form, made famous on the campuses of historically black colleges, by the Hillside-based Xinos Step Team.
