The Montclair Film Festival recently hosted a private fundraising event at the Wellmont, the “I Want My MFF: A 1980’s Dance Party.” It was a totally tubular evening, with vibrant neon colored cocktail tables, Cheez Whiz, and guests decked out in their best 80’s style.
The party kicked off with Patrick Wilson and Dagmara Dominczyk running a live silent auction to raise money for the MFF’s non-profit film & educational programs. Supporters donated generously, funding film equipment purchases for students in need and scholarships for Montclair’s kids.
As the night continued The Loser’s Lounge took the stage and the dance party kicked off in radical style. Patrick Wilson returned to the stage, wowing the crowd with his version of Bon Jovi’s “Livin’ on a Prayer” followed by Stephen Colbert, who did his best David Byrne impression with a radical rendition of “Once in a Lifetime” by Talking Heads.
