MONTCLAIR, NJ – From the Wellmont Theater: World famous post-punk band, the Psychedelic Furs, will be stopping at Montclair’s Wellmont Theater on Saturday, October 7, as part of their “The Singles Tour.”
Best known for the song, Pretty in Pink, which was used in the hit Hollywood film of the same name, the Furs will perform the biggest songs they’ve released over the past 30 years across seven different albums including Sister Europe, Love My Way, Heaven, The Ghost in You and Heartbreak Beat.
Founded by brothers Richard and Tim Butler in 1977, the band emerged from the post-punk scene in England. Their music has gone through several phases including an art rock sound early on with sounds of new wave and hard rock later in their career. The band went on hiatus after they finished touring in 1992, but later regrouped in 2000 and continue to perform around the world.
