Ryder is a hard rock band hailing from Queens, NY. Formed in 2016, the band features different talents united in their passion to throw down in the classic style for a modern crowd. Lead singer and guitarist James Ryder embodies the pounding spirit of true rock; Tim Freyr’s resounding bass compels its own attention from audiences; Billy Smith fuses precision with rebellion on drums, and guitarist Andrew Bloch weaves the musical threads that unite the band into a single force.
Ryder is authentically heavy but always wailing for their audience rather than at it. Their first EP, IV, which was produced by former Lynch Mob bass player Anthony Esposito, was released in 2017 and caught fans’ attention with its classic-yet-contemporary sound. Their new EP, For What It’s Worth, is a live compilation of new songs – a daring choice showing the band in their best aspect: playing to a live audience in venues that know good heavy rock when they hear it (cf. L.A’s Whiskey A-Go-Go, NY’s Gramercy Theater, et al.). FWIW is the answer to what is needed in hard rock now: obvious respect for the inspiration of predecessors from Thin Lizzy, Aerosmith, Black Sabbath, and the others, woven into a sound that is clearly alive with audiences today.
War For the Crown is from Bloomfield NJ. Although the band has only been together for about a little over a year, each member has been in the NJ music scene since the Connection days in Clifton. Our sound is a rugged and hostile with sludge metal influence. Our lyrics aren’t for the weak… our music represents some low times people go through and the ability to say good luck, fuck you, I’m reborn today.
Performing throughout the Tri-state area, opening for such acts as Crowbar, Doyle, Lynch Mob & Buckcherry. WFTC has seen a few battles, but the war has just begun…
As the story goes, RATT helped pioneer Hollywood’s legendary Sunset Strip sound and scene in the 1980’s. Created by lead singer songwriter Stephen Pearcy in 1982. Pearcy regrouped with friend Robbin Crosby (also from San Diego) then changed the name of his band to RATT. The band rehearsed and played the clubs in and around L.A. for over a year. They soon recorded and released their own six song E.P. RATT in 1983. Their single, “You Think You’re Tough,” (Pearcy/Crosby) the song became a staple on local L.A. radio stations KMET and KLOS. RATT EP sold well over 100,000 copies.
RATT was a headliner and selling out local shows. They found themselves opening a show for ZZ Top. The band was called back onstage. RATT was on a roll.
Signed to Atlantic Records in 1984 the band’s debut album “Out of the Cellar” (Warren DeMartini, Stephen Pearcy, Bobby Blotzer, Robbin Crosby and Juan Croucier) went over 3x Platinum in 1984 behind the hit single “Round & Round,” “Back for More,” and “Wanted Man.”
RATT would tour with Billy Squire and Ozzy Osbourne before going on to headline their own arena tours around the globe. World infestation had begun.
Since 1983 to present the band has sold in excess of (15) million records in the US alone. Their first (4) records went Platinum plus and the arenas concerts were selling out.
RATT released (2) records, Collage in 1997 and RATT 1999 before their latest “Infestation in 2010”. They also released the Best of CD Tell the World: The Very Best of Ratt and their 3rd long form DVD, RATT Videos from the Cellar: The Atlantic Years.
This year 2013 Rhino/Warner Music Group recently released RATT “Original Album Series, a (5) album box set with the albums “Out of the Cellar’ thru “Detonator” for the rabid RATT fans to have something to sink their teeth into.
RATT signed to RoadRunner/Loud & Proud for 2010 “Infestation”. Infestation was a return to form for RATT. 2018 finds RATT continuing to rock the world, performing their mega hits from their storied catalog.
