NEXT – R&B musical trio NEXT broke with their Billboard Hot 100 number-one hit single “Too Close”.
Amerie – Breaking out with the debut single, “Why Don’t We Fall in Love.” Amerie made her voice heard, the single had reached the Top 20 of the R&B/hip-hop chart and the Billboard Hot 100. Her follow-up, Touch, was released in April 2005. It peaked at number five on the Billboard album chart while yielding the number one single “1 Thing.” The album was a significant improvement over her debut, due, in large part, to her songwriting input on almost every song.
AZ – Hails from East New York, Brooklyn, New York. He is known for being a longtime and frequent music partner of Nas and also a member of hip hop group The Firm alongside Nas, Foxy Brown, Cormega and Nature. AZ has been described as “arguably the most underrated lyricist ever.” First appearing on Nas’s landmark 1994 album Illmatic on the song “Life’s A Bitch”, as well as featuring vocals on the opening track “The Genesis”.
Illtown Sluggaz – is both the musical moniker of Naughty By Nature’s Vin Rock and KayGee, as well as the duo’s music company through which they develop an evolving roster of Slugga Music Artists in Hip-Hop, Pop, and R&B.
Funkmaster Flex -DJ, rapper, record producer, and host on New York City’s Hot 97 radio station. In 1992, he became the host of the first hip-hop radio show on Hot 97 and has been on air ever since.
