July 17, 2018 – Montclair, NJ – The Wellmont Theater is proud to announce that Renaissance Rock Folk band, Blackmore’s Night, will perform their last U.S. tour date for 2018 on the Wellmont stage on July 29th, 2018. To mark the event, the Wellmont will be hosting the New Jersey-based non-profit, NorthStar Pet Rescue, in the lobby to give audience members a chance to interact with rescue animals and donate to its cause. The theater is proudly matching each donation dollar for dollar.
Founded more than 20 years ago by Rock and Roll Hall of Fame guitarist Ritchie Blackmore (Deep Purple, Rainbow) and singer / songwriter / multi-instrumentalist Candice Night, Blackmore’s Night is an internationally renowned band with more than 10 studio albums and numerous gold records. Some of their biggest hits include “Moonlight Shadow,” “Somewhere Over the Sea,” and “Coming Home.”
Blackmore’s Night is a group of talented multi-instrumentalists, including Blackmore, Night, Lady Lynn, Scarlett Fiddler, Earl Grey, Troubadour of Aberdeen, and Bard David. The band’s sound is a mix of acoustic / electric Renaissance styled and troubadour folk-music with fantasy themed lyrics meant to transport the listener to an older time. Fans are encouraged to join the band in dressing in classic Renaissance garb at the performance.
“We are very excited to have Blackmore’s Night performing at the Wellmont Theater,” says Lara Gladstone, Director of Marketing, Wellmont Theater. “What makes this show even more significant is that we’ll be hosting NorthStar Pet Rescue in the lobby to raise donations for the organization that Wellmont Theater will be matching dollar for dollar. The Wellmont is working to support animals in the community by having foundations like this attend performances so audiences can interact and easily give back.”
Founded in 2017, NorthStar is a non-profit animal rescue organization dedicated to saving homeless and abused dogs around the country. The organization shelters the animals and finds them safe, loving ‘forever homes.’
“We are honored to be invited to the Blackmore’s Night show at the Wellmont.
